Former Pakistan national cricket team captain Imran Khan has criticised the Shan Masood-led team for the loss in the two-match Test series against the Bangladesh national cricket team. He said it was the lowest point in their cricketing history and no one would question the board chairman.

Pakistan national cricket team has been receiving a lot of criticism lately for their poor performances and things got even worse after their recent exits in the two-match Test series against Bangladesh national cricket team. In what was a humiliating defeat, the hosts faced a 2-0 thrashing.

Before the series, Pakistan National Cricket Team was expected to give their fans something to cheer about and win the series. But despite being the favourites and playing at home, they failed to win and also dropped points in the World Test Championship points table.

The hosts were in a position to win in both games but ended up losing, which came as a surprise to many. In the first match, they put in a good performance with the bat and after scoring 448 runs, they declared the innings in the hope of bowling out the opposition early.

But it turned out to be a bad decision and Bangladesh ended up taking a lead of over 100 runs. If this wasn’t enough, they then went all out for a low total, setting just a target of 30 runs, which the opponent chased down by 10 wickets to go 1-0 up in the series.

With the team trailing 1-0, the home team was expected to put in a batting performance. However, that was not to be as after being put in to bat first, they were bowled out for 274 runs. But they were right on target with the ball and almost sealed the game in the first innings.

The hosts left Bangladesh reeling at 26/6 and it seemed like it would be just a matter of time. But they could not take the wickets of Litton Das (138) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (78), who made vital contributions and brought the team close to the opponent’s total.

The Shan Masood-led side then put up a poor performance with the bat as they were bowled out for 172 runs, setting the target of just 185 runs to chase. Bangladesh had a decent outing with the bat as the batsmen chipped in to help the team register the 6-wicket win and win their first ever series over the opposition.

Imran Khan criticises Pakistan for heavy defeat to Bangladesh

Imran Khan, who is in jail, said the series defeat against Bangladesh was the biggest disaster in history because the team was humiliated. He said the world is laughing at them and also lashed out at President Mohsin Naqvi. He explained:

“Pakistan cricket team has suffered the biggest disaster in history. Bangladesh has humiliated us. This is the lowest point of Pakistan cricket. The world is laughing at our cricket but no one dares to question PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.”

They will next be seen in action when they host the England National Cricket Team for the three-match Test series.
