Pakistan national cricket team achieved an unwelcome feat after winning the series 2-0 against Bangladesh national cricket team. They became the second team in the history of Test cricket to lose a home series against each of the 10 oldest Test-playing nations.

Pakistan joined Bangladesh on the undesirable list. This comes after their poor performances with bat and ball in the two-match Test series against the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side. Both matches of the series were played at the Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi.

Pakistan were not up to par with bat and ball throughout the series. They had their moments in the game. What caught the attention of many was that they were in a dominant position in both matches and had a great chance of winning. However, they failed to do so and ended up losing both matches.

In the first match, they declared their innings after registering 448 runs on the board. However, they put in a below-par bowling performance and Bangladesh ended up taking a lead of more than 100 runs.

If this was not enough, they then went all out for a low total, setting just a target of 30 runs, which the opposition chased down with 10 wickets in hand.

They were expected to perform better in the second game, but the same thing happened: they were asked to bat first and were bowled out for 274 runs.

However, with the ball, Bangladesh were left reeling at 26/6. But after that things did not go their way as the visitors did a great job with Litton Das (138) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (78) making vital contributions.

Pakistan put up a poor performance with the bat as they were bowled out for 172 runs, allowing them to reach the target of just 185 runs. Bangladesh put up a good performance with the bat as the batsmen contributed to help the team register the victory by 6 wickets and record their first ever Test series win against Pakistan.

As a fast bowler, he was looking for wickets – Hasan Mahmud after the Test series win over Pakistan

Hasan Mahmud played a decisive role in the Bangladesh national cricket team’s victory in the second Test.

The fast bowler showed his best form in the second innings when he picked a fifer and helped his team outstrip the opposition to post a low total.

Hasan Mahmud said he was looking to get the wickets and the way they performed, they deserved to win the series. He spoke about how they took advantage of the conditions and said it was a vital effort from the entire team. Speaking after the game, he explained:

“As a fast bowler, I was looking for wickets, and the boys, our effort [with the ball]We deserved it.

“We must take advantage [of conditions] “As fast bowlers, you have to keep working hard together, and especially in red-ball cricket, it’s important to get the most out of the fast bowlers and the spinners, all together. It was a valiant effort.”

Bangladesh will be seen in action again when they take on the Indian National Cricket Team in the two-match Test series. Starting September 19th.
