Former Indian national cricket team batsman Aakash Chopra and former England national cricket team captain Michael Vaughan have brutally attacked the Pakistan national cricket team after their humiliating defeat against the Bangladesh national cricket team in the opening Test series.

The Shan Masood-led side suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of Najmul Hossain Shanto & Co. in the first Test of the two-match series at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

After the first four days, the match looked like it was heading towards a draw, but on the final day, Bangladesh’s spinners pulled the match off and secured a crucial win to take a big leap up the ICC World Test Championship points table.

Talking about the match in detail, Pakistan lost 3 wickets for 16 runs after being invited to bat first on Day 1. However, Saud Shakeel (141) and Mohammad Rizwan (171) did not let Bangladesh take control of the match and led their side to a good total of 448/6d.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s bowlers were clueless about how to play and were failing to get wickets. Mushfiqur Rahim especially struggled as he scored a sensational 191 runs while Shadman Islam (93) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (77) also gave the hosts problems. Bangladesh then scored 565 runs to take a healthy lead.

In the third innings of the match, Pakistan put up a horrible performance and were bowled out for 146 runs. Bangladesh had a small target of 30 runs to chase and did so comfortably to win by 10 wickets.

After the match, former Indian opening batsman Aakash Chopra took to his official handle X and brutally mocked the hosts, saying that rarely does a team lose after declaring in the first innings with over 400 runs on the board and 4 wickets remaining. He added that “Pakistan cricket is a gift that keeps on giving fruits every now and then.”

Former England captain Vaughan also slammed the Pakistan team and said that they are in a real mess at the moment. He also heaped praise on Bangladesh for their big win over the home team.

Talking about the ICC World Test Championship points table, the Indian National Cricket Team is at the top of the table with a PCT of 68.52, and the second place is occupied by the Australian National Cricket Team, which has a PCT of 62.50.

Bangladesh national cricket team after the victory over Pakistan jumped to number 6 position with a PCT of 40.00 and Pakistan national cricket team dropped to number 8 position with a PCT of 30.56.
