PAKISTAN FORM: LACK OF STARS SIGNAL POSSIBLE STRUGGLE

Pakistan’s women’s team have consistently found it difficult to compete for a significant period of time and things got even harder for them earlier in the year with the retirement of captain Bismah Maroof. She followed another long-standing stalwart in ending her international career, with Javeria Khan retiring a month earlier.

SRI LANKA FORM: ATHAPATHU THE STAR FOR SRI LANKA

With destructive opener Chamari Athapaththu within their ranks alongside an assortment of impressive spinners, Sri Lanka should challenge the bigger names across the tournament. They won both their warm-up fixtures against Bangladesh and Scotland respectively and enter the competition in good form and with confidence high among their squad.

PAKISTAN BETTING ANALYSIS

Pakistan do have a young strike bowler up their sleeve in 22-year-old Fatima Sana who warrants significant attention from a betting point of view. A right-arm-fast-medium bowler, Sana has the ability to bowl across the Sri Lankan innings whether it be in the powerplay, the middle orders or at the death. Wickets will be her priority target and backing her to gain over 1.5 of those is worth considering.

SRI LANKA BETTING ANALYSIS

As we mentioned above, Chamari Athapaththu is key for Sri Lanka and if she comes off with the bat, their chances of victory increase ten-fold. Expectations on her are high, but Athapaththu will be used to that and it would be no surprise to see her cash in against a struggling side like Pakistan. Back the opener to rack up 20+ runs across this contest via the ‘Batter Milestones’ market.

PAKISTAN VS SRI LANKA EXPERT PREDICTION

Pakistan don’t contain the sort of batting firepower that their opponents do and this is likely to be a decisive factor here in Sharjah. Early wickets for Sri Lanka could easily see Pakistan collapse, whilst Athapaththu’ side look a more solid outfit with the bat on paper, who can also take full advantage of their powerplay. Expect Sri Lanka to come out on top in this one.
