Punjab Kings (PBKS) will take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in match 53 of IPL 2024 at the Dharamshala Cricket Stadium in Himachal Pradesh. The match will begin at 3:3 pm IST and the draw will take place at 3:00 pm IST. This is the reverse fixture between CSK and PBKS, with the latter winning away from home in their last match.
Harpreet Brar was the star for Punjab Kings when they last faced CSK at Chepauk. Later, Shashank Singh’s batting contributions ensured PBKS’ resurgence in IPL 2024. CSK, on the other hand, have struggled to get players in IPL 2024.
Despite a good start to the campaign, they have been off the mark of late and have lost 3 of the 4 matches that the Chennai Super Kings have played. The franchise is battling injury and availability concerns as their star opener Devon Conway has been ruled out of the entire IPL.
Rachin Rvaindra started brightly but his form faded and the New Zealander therefore had to be benched. Deepak Chahar was injured in the last match against Punjab and could only bowl a couple of balls before leaving the field. His return to IPL 2024 is highly unlikely.

Mustafizur Rahman has returned to Bangladesh to fulfill his national commitment in the T20I series against Zimbabwe. Ajinkya Rahane, Daryl Mitchell and Ravindra Jadeja have struggled to find their form in this year’s IPL and hence, this will be a very important match for CSK if they have to stay in the IPL playoff contention.
Ruturaj Gaikwad’s luck with the toss has also not been very good and the new captain of Chennai Super Kings has lost 9 of the 10 coin tosses in IPL 2024. MS Dhoni along with Gaikwad and Shivam Dube have been the stalwarts with the bat this season during CSK.
Matheesha Pathirana spearheaded CSK’s bowling attack in IPL 2024 and the Men in Yellow will await her and Tushar Deshpande’s return in game 11 against Punjab Kings. Both players missed the last home game.
