"Please understand…": Jason Gillespie attacks those ‘crying for change’ and delivers verdict on Multan speech

Pakistan National Cricket Team’s red-ball head coach Jason Gillespie has reacted to the disappointing defeat the team faced in the first Test against the England National Cricket Team. He said it’s only their third test and people should understand they’re in an early space.

Pakistan national cricket team’s torrid run in Test cricket continued. They suffered a humiliating innings and a loss of 47 runs in the first game and lost 0-1 in the three-match Test series against the England National Cricket Team at the Multan Cricket Stadium.

Pakistan suffered a massive loss after posting 556 runs in the first innings.

The defeat came as a big shock for the Pakistan team because they suffered an innings defeat after posting 556 runs in the first innings. This was also the first time in the history of the longest format of the game that a team suffered an innings defeat after registering a total of over 500 runs in the first innings.

Pakistan opted to bat first and had an excellent outing with the bat. Captain Shan Masood (151) and Abdul Shafique (102) scored magnificent centuries at the top. Saud Shakeel (82) also played a vital hand before Salman Ali Agha (104) hit a century to take his team to a total of 556 runs.

But even after that, they were overshadowed by the England national cricket team. Harry Brook (317) and Joe Root (262) produced tremendous efforts with the bat. They scored a total of 823 runs on the board and took a lead of over 200 runs in the first innings.

After that, Pakistan gave a horrendous effort with the bat. No other batsman could get going as they went all out for 220 runs only to suffer an innings and a loss of 47 runs.

Please understand that this management, including myself, is our third test: Jason Gillespie.

Pakistan coach Jason Gillespie while talking about the performance noted that people are demanding a change of players but they have the best group of players in the mix. He mentioned that they have no skill issues and that they have to make sure they adjust and adapt in the game. Speaking after the match, Jason Gillespie explained:

“Please understand that this administration, including myself, this is our third test. It’s very early days for us in this space. We have analyzed past performances and we are analyzing current performances. Sometimes players are better players when they are not on the team.

“Everyone is crying out for a change, a change. I understand that people want to see results and performances. But we have very good players in the locker room. The skill level is not the problem. We just need to make sure we’re in the game, adjusting and adapting in the game and finding solutions there, rather than reflecting at the end of the game or match of the day that we should have done this and that. “In-game solutions are something we talk about a lot.” Jason Gillespie said.

I wasn’t bothered with the surface here – Jason Gillespie

Jason Gillespie also spoke about the Multan Cricket Stadium pitch in Multan, which received a lot of criticism for being flat. The head coach mentioned that there was talk about the throw because they didn’t get their plans right and didn’t execute their skills. He added:

“I wasn’t bothered with the surface here. It’s pretty much what we expected and what we thought would be the best opportunity to play well in the game. If you look at our first entries, we got a score of 550 and that part was okay.

“No one was talking about the surface then. It was only when we didn’t plan well and execute our ball skills that everyone started talking about the surface,” concluded Jason Gillespie.
