In addition to the hosts of India Women, five other teams have secured their places. Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa and Sri Lanka will appear in this year’s Women’s World Cup. The last two teams will be decided through the qualifiers of the Women’s World Cup, which will take place in LaHore from April 9, with women from Pakistan among the participating teams.
If Pakistan qualifies, the tournament can follow a hybrid model similar to the recently completed Men’s Men’s Champions Trophy 2025. In that case, Pakistan was the official host, but since India declined to travel there, all the games of India were held in Dubai. While the female World Cup support host has not yet been confirmed, Sri Lanka and the EAU are the main contestants.
India is ready to organize the Women’s Odi World Cup for the first time since 2012-13. At that time, India was eliminated in the group stage after losing two of its three games.
India also organized the Women’s T20 World Cup in 2016, but faced a similar result. Directed by Mithali Raj, the team began with a dominant victory over Bangladesh before losing three in the trot.
The women of India have not yet claimed the 50 -year -old World Cup title despite approaching twice in 2005 and 2017. In the 2005 final, they suffered a strong defeat of 98 races against Australia after a batting collapse. Twelve years later, in 2017, England, the now champion defender, surpassed them in a scathing end, winning only nine races.
Under Harmanpreet Kaur captaincy, the women of India will seek to change their fortunes at home. Blue women will play Sri Lanka’s Odi series, which involves South Africa from April 27.
