Rachin Ravindra in IPL 2025 auction: Which teams could look at the CSK sensation if they are released?

Perhaps Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will release him after his disappointing returns in the previous edition.

Quality is a term that automatically goes with Rachin Ravindra. There is potential, a huge one. He is an all-format superstar destined to achieve great things in world cricket. However, his T20 career has not been as flourishing as the other two formats in the initial phase.

Perhaps Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will release him after his disappointing returns in the previous edition. That being said, Rachin’s skills are too good to not be successful in this format. Hence, several teams go for him during the auction because it is a long-term investment.

We explain three teams that could target Rachin Ravindra in the IPL 2025 auction.

Kings of Punjab

Shikhar Dhawan has retired and Punjab Kings (PBKS) could release the likes of Jonny Bairstow and Prabhsimran Singh. Therefore, they will have a couple of spots at the top and will be able to target Rachin Ravindra.

He is a solid pace and spin player and will be crucial in the home matches at Mullanpur where the leads have mostly been true. A shooter like Rachin would fit perfectly into the PBKS plans.

Bombay Indians

Mumbai Indians (MI) have a solid Indian core but are likely to release Ishan Kishan. With Rohit, who is an excellent pace player, at the top, MI would want someone who can generate long innings and handle spin well.

That’s where they can test Ravindra, who ticks a lot of boxes by playing big shots and protecting Rohit against spin. The duo will make an ideal couple both at home and away.

Capitals of Delhi

Delhi Capitals (DC) are set to part ways with David Warner and Prithvi Shaw, their two openers in the previous cycle. Additionally, if they retain Jake Fraser-McGurk, DC would need someone who can protect him from spin since Jake is a pace hitter.

That’s where Rachin can come in, who will also provide variety to the best, providing his LHB factor. Even Rishabh Pant struggles with spin, so having a solid spin batsman at the top will be of great benefit to DC.
