RR had one of the strongest squads in the competition, and even the younger ones were immensely skilled and performed well on patches. One such player was Kuldeep Sen, who impressed in limited opportunities.
Playing for Rajasthan Royals, Kuldeep has snared 14 wickets at an average of 27.64 and 17.21 in 12 IPL innings, including a four-wicket haul. He hasn’t had consistent opportunities due to the availability of other quality players, but he has played enough to showcase his superior skills.
What does Kuldeep Sen offer?
Kuldeep Sen is a lanky runner who can reach over 140 kmph, hit the impact pad hard and generate some uneven bounces. He swings the bat hard and can beat batsmen with his pace, as seen during his dismissals in the IPL.
He also gets some off-platform movement, making him a versatile sprinter. Kuldeep’s length mostly remains on the shorter side, making him a quality mid-order option.
It has demonstrated extensive control over its lengths and can be used in other phases, although work is still in progress. His superior talent was one of the reasons he was quickly brought into the national set-up and will only continue to improve from now on.

Why will Rajasthan Royals release Kuldeep Sen?
Rajasthan Royals have a glut problem ahead of the IPL 2025 auction. Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson are sure retainers while Riyan Parag, Yuzvendra Chahal and Trent Boult are other solid options.
The biggest problem for RR is that Kuldeep has already made his India debut, despite only appearing in a solitary game. Therefore, they cannot hold him in the uncapped category, otherwise it would have been a safe hold.
RR may not use a retention slot on him, since they have better options. However, they can rebid on it or use RTM if the price is reasonable in the auction.
Kuldeep Sen’s value in IPL 2025 auction
Indian pacers are always in demand in the IPL auction, and Kuldeep Sen will also be on the radar of several IPL teams. He brings value in the intermediates, something that not many Indian sprinters can boast of.
Also, Sen is only 27 years old and will be a long-term investment for any IPL side. He will get better from here and can be a winner for any team.
Its price will be much higher than in the last auction when RR bought it at its base price. Expect Kuldeep to fetch a decent sum in the IPL 2025 auction and if possible, RR will chase him again.
