Ravindra Jadeja’s journey in the ongoing IPL 2024 came to an end on Saturday (May 18) after Chennai Super Kings suffered a 27-run defeat against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their final league match of the season.

The star all-rounder batted till the end but could not take his team home. After RCB ended their innings with 218 runs, CSK needed to score at least 201 runs to qualify for the playoffs. However, they fell short by 10 runs and finished on 191 for 7.

With CSK needing 17 runs from the final over to qualify for the playoffs, MS Dhoni hit Yash Dayal’s first delivery for a big six. With 11 needed off 5 and Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja in the crease, CSK were the favorites to win the match. However, Dayal bounced back in style to propel RCB to a famous victory. He dismissed Dhoni in the second ball and conceded just one single in the next four balls.

Ravindra Jadeja got the strike in the last two balls and had to score 10 runs. However, the left-handed batsman failed to score any runs on those deliveries and CSK exited the tournament on a disappointing note. While Ravindra Jadeja failed to score the required runs off the last two balls, he played a good innings, scoring an unbeaten 42 runs off 22 balls to keep CSK in the hunt.

While Ravindra Jadeja is receiving praise from various quarters for his fight against RCB, he could face pressure from fans for his recent activity on social media. The Indian all-rounder liked a post on X (formerly Twitter) which will not go down well with many, especially fans of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

The posts accuse both Rohit and Kohli of not supporting Dhoni and claim that Jadeja is the only one who always supported the former Indian captain. Interestingly, Jadeja liked not one but two posts, making the same point.
