RCB vs CSK: "We don’t often see a team revive its season like this" – Zaheer Khan praises RCB

Former India fast bowler Zaheer Khan has shared his views on Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s incredible turnaround in the ongoing Indian Premier League season.

RCB’s chances of making the playoffs seemed exhausted after losing seven of their first eight games. However, the three-time finalists have made a notable turnaround in their campaign and are now in the fight to qualify for the playoffs.

They are on a five-game winning streak and have seemed almost unstoppable in recent games. The team led by Faf du Plessis has just surprised the teams to revive their playoff chances. They ended their losing streak with a resounding 35-run win over Sunrisers Hyderabad. It was followed by a nine-wicket win over the Gujarat Titans before they again defeated the same opposition by four wickets.

In their 12th game of the season, RCB thrashed Punjab Kings by 60 runs after amassing a mammoth total of 241. In their last game, the Bengaluru-based team defeated Delhi Capitals by 47 runs to become the first team to win five games in a row this season. They are currently in fifth place in the points table.

Zaheer Khan on RCB’s turnaround:

RCB has impressed many with their performance in the last few matches and Zaheer Khan is also one of them. The Indian great gave RCB full marks for keeping their playoff hopes alive after the disastrous start to the season.

“They lost six in a row and now they have made it five wins in a row. This doesn’t happen without passion, so you have to appreciate it. We don’t often see a team revive their season like this after so many defeats, which is why RCB’s full score. All that you can control is what you base your expectations on, and RCB is proving it.

Their last match is against CSK, so one or both of those teams could end up with 14 points. This is why the other results are important. They have also improved their execution rate. If all these things go well for RCB till the final match, it will be an extremely interesting contest,” Zaheer told Jio Cinema.

RCB will face defending champions Chennai Super Kings in their last league match. It will be a life or death clash for them.
