The sun is shining and the chances of rain are quite low in Bengaluru when RCB take on CSK tonight at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
He Royal Challengers Bangalore will receive the current champions Chennai Super Kings in the team’s last two league matches of IPL 2024. Over the past few days, the rain god has been quite cruel to the IPL teams as several games have been canceled due to extreme weather conditions.
2 matches in the last week of IPL 2024 were abandoned due to rain. Gujarat Titans couldn’t play their last 2 matches against Kolkata and Hyderabad for the same reason and it also became the reason why they couldn’t make it to the play-offs. If the same happens during tonight’s clash between RCB and CSK, then one of the teams will have to pay the price of getting eliminated.
Will rain play its role in RCB Vs CSK?
According to various weather reports, rain could play a role during the 68th match between RCB and CSK. Although the sun has risen in Bengaluru this morning and it might seem like there will be no rain, weather reports suggest something else.
While the weather appears to be good during the day, the second half of the day could see some rain. For the last 4-5 days, Bengaluru has been experiencing pre-monsoon rains over the state of Karnataka, and the same is expected today.
Some reports also claim that there is a 90% chance of rain later this afternoon when RCB and CSK take the field for the last time before the play-offs. According to AccuWeather coverage, the weather will be cloudy with a couple of passing showers around the city along with a thunderstorm expected to occur this afternoon.
In the afternoon, when the game begins, some parts of the city will experience a storm with 100% cloud cover and a 47% chance of precipitation. The temperature is expected to be between 24 and 25 degrees and that is not good news for RCB and CSK, specifically the Bengaluru-based franchise.
Chennai Super Kings can qualify for the playoffs if the match is abandoned and both teams receive one point each. In that case, CSK will qualify with 15 points, but RCB, with that point, will reach 13 points, which is certainly not enough to finish in the top 4.
All RCB fans will be waiting for the match to start in Bengaluru as they don’t want to get eliminated without even a fight.
