shubman gill continues to show why he is arguably the next big thing in Indian cricket, earning praise from star batsman Virat Kohli. For the Gujarat Titans (GT) against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Monday in Ahmedabad, Gill hit a brilliant hundred.
In their most recent meeting of the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, Gujarat Titans defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 34 runs and secured their place in the playoffs.

“I missed the bouncer that I hit for a single, but it was on my mind. There are still 5 or 6 games to go though and hopefully I’ll score my hundred in one of them as Gill commented after getting stuck at 94* out of 51 against Lucknow Super Giants in a recent IPL match.

Shubman Gill was true to his word by scoring his first IPL hundred against the Hyderabad Sunrisers on 15 May at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, 8 days after making the pledge. It was only a matter of time before Gill broke the triple figure barrier in the lucrative league after scoring an ODI two hundred, a few more centuries, a Test hundred and a T20I ton.

With 575 runs to his credit, Gill is currently just a few runs behind Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Faf du Plessis (631) in the race for the Orange Cap. Gill has brought the international form of him to the IPL.

On May 28, Gujarat Titans (GT) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will play the final league match of IPL 2023 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, facing Shubman Gill and Kohli.
