RCB Women will take on Delhi Capitals Women in Match 17 of WPL 2024 on Sunday, March 10. The match starts at 7:30 pm IST. This is the reverse match between the two teams.
RCB Women come into this match after losing to Gujarat Giants in the previous match. Despite the defeat, they have managed to stay in third position in the table. A win would take them to 8 points and possibly dethrone Mumbai Indians from the second position in the table.
RCB Women led by Smriti Mandhana are yet to win against Delhi Capitals Women in the WPL. They lost both games last season. Earlier this season, they failed to reach 194 against Delhi and lost the game by 25 runs.
RCB lost their previous match against Gujarat Giants trying to chase 200. The venue has considerably less bounce on the pitch than Delhi. The countryside and climatic conditions are comparatively very different from Bangalore.
The teams that batted first won the first four games in Delhi. This seems to be the pattern for the remaining games as well. The captain who wins the toss will back his batsmen to score big and put pressure on the chasing team. A score between 180 and 200 can be achieved, as demonstrated by the Delhi Giants and Gujarat.
RCB have kept their game combination the same since their win against UP Warriorz. They played with the same XI against Gujarat and will back them to deliver against DC Women as well.
RCB Women Playing 11 vs Delhi Capitals Women – WPL 2024, match 17
Smriti Mandhana (C)
Unlike last year, Smriti is among the races this season. He has so far scored 243 runs at an average of 40.50 this season. He scored 74 in the previous match against DC and will back himself to score another big one.
Sabbhineni Meghana
Meghana failed to get going in the last match. However, moving to open the batting has provided enough depth to the batting line-up with Sophie Devine batting in the middle order.
Ellyse Perry
Perry will bat at three. He scored 24 against the Giants after scoring his first fifty of this season against UP Warriorz. He has so far scored 157 runs this season.
Sofia Devine
Devine scored 23 in the last match against Gujarat Giants. He has yet to score more than fifty points in this edition of the WPL. He has taken five wickets with the ball.
Richa Ghosh (WK)
Hard-hitting Richa Ghosh can bat at five. She has played some useful shots, including a 62 in the match against UP Warriorz. She scored a good 30 off 21 balls in the last match.
Georgia Wareham
Wareham will be placed at six. She showed her all-round skills in the last game by scoring 48 off 22 balls and taking 1 for 36 with the ball. She has taken six wickets in six games so far this season.
Sofia Molineux
Molineux has taken seven wickets in six games so far in WPL 2024. Mandha can use her against Meg Lanning, who she knows well. She can be the punt that the boss can use to dismiss the opposing boss.
Simran Bahadur
Bahadur has been excellent on the field for RCB Women. She scored just one run in the first opportunity she had with the bat this season. The Delhi girl has been athletic and acrobatic on the field.
Asha Sobhana
Asha is one of RCB’s main weapons with the ball. He has taken seven wickets in six games so far. She’s been hot and cold since the fiftieth she took against UP Warriorz. In the previous match, the leggie bowled only one over.
Ekta Bisht
Bisht will be another left-arm spinner for RCB Women. She made her WPL debut in the last game. Her lower trajectory delivery delivery could be perfect for this low bounce delivery in Delhi. She can trap hitters with the round arm action of hers. She scored 32 in three overs in her previous game.
Renuka Singh Thakur
Thakur concludes RCB’s planned XI for this match. He has taken three wickets in total in the WPL and just two this season. The pacer scored 34 runs in her four overs against the Giants.
