Recently, Rishabh Pant finally opened up about the particular incident. The wicket-keeper batsman also spoke about his performance on his Test comeback and the partnership with Shubman Gill in the second innings.

In a video uploaded by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Pant spoke about the moment of “field preparation” and claimed that he enjoyed it. Pant mentioned that he was just trying to help the other team because he wanted cricket to improve.

“I think the idea I have about this game is that cricket should improve wherever you play. I was just trying to help the other team to be able to put a fielder here and it was amazing, actually. I enjoyed it,” Pant explained on why he helped Bangladesh put a fielder in.

In the same video, Rishabh Pant also spoke about his feeling of playing a Test match after such a long time. He claimed that the fire within him helped him produce a magnificent knock in the second innings of the match.

“I think I was very nervous, very nervous, but there was something inside me that was pushing me to make it happen. In the end, I did it. I’m happy, but I don’t think about it too much. I’m still happy after what I did yesterday,” Pant said.

The wicket-keeper batsman also shared his views on the partnership with Shubman Gill. Pant felt that he and Gill share a good bond off the field, which helped them form an excellent partnership.

“One thing I have understood over time is that when you have a great relationship off the field, it really helps to bat with that person. Because when you share a great bond off the field, you understand how that other person thinks, how the game develops,” Pant revealed.

“We were just having fun, chatting a bit about the game, but at the same time, we both knew what we wanted to do. We were just trying to relax and wanted to create a great partnership,” he added.

Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant joined forces to put on 167 runs and claim the fourth wicket in the second innings. The two came together when India were 81-3 and had just lost Virat Kohli.

However, the youngsters withstood all the pressure and took India to a position of great dominance. Pant was more aggressive and scored 109 off 128 balls with 13 fours and 4 sixes. Meanwhile, Gill scored an unbeaten 119 off 176 balls with 10 fours and 4 sixes.
