Bowlers often bowl a front-foot no-ball, but since Riyan overdid it in his experiment, it was considered a back-foot no-ball.
Riyan Parag tried to bowl a flatter length delivery with a very smooth action from behind the stumps while coming out of the crease. It was a strange dance and Riyan probably tried something unique when it wasn’t really necessary.
But even if he wanted to try it, he should have taken into account the rules of the game because it was a no-ball. The referees reviewed the replays and discovered that Riyan’s back foot was outside the return area.

According to the MCC law on fair delivery (the feet): “For a delivery to be fair with respect to the feet, in the delivery step,
21.5.1 the thrower’s back foot must land within and without touching the return crease corresponding to his established throwing mode.
21.5.2 For a throw to be fair to the feet, in the throwing stride, the thrower’s front foot must land with some part of the foot, either on the ground or elevated.
– on the same side of the imaginary line joining the two intermediate trunnions as the return bend described in 21.5.1, and
– behind the fold that appears.
If the umpire on the bowler’s side is not satisfied with the fulfillment of these three conditions, he will declare and signal No ball.
As you can see, Riyan’s back foot was not inside the return area and was on the grass as he released the ball. Therefore, it was a back-foot no-ball, as mentioned in the rules.
The Indian bowlers made a collective effort to help India clinch the series.
As for the match, India beat Bangladesh, who again had a boring performance. They started well with the ball, taking three wickets in the powerplay, but a great partnership between Nitish Kumar Reddy and Rinku Singh took India’s total to a massive 221/9 in 20 overs.
While bowling, all the Indian bowlers were brilliant with the ball and put the opponent under pressure with their penetrating bowling. Nitish Kumar Reddy and Varun Chakravarthy got two wickets each, while all the other players also played well.
Riyan Parag also delivered two overs and conceded 16 runs while taking one wicket. The players kept Bangladesh’s total at 135/9, giving the team a huge 86-run win.
They have won the series with one game remaining. The next and final match of the series will take place on Saturday (October 12) in Hyderabad.
