India captain Rohit Sharma will make his long-awaited return to action later this week when the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka begins. Both teams are currently engaged in a three-match T20I series.

Rohit Sharma has not played a competitive match since leading India to glory at the T20 World Cup last month. Under his captaincy, India won the T20 World Cup after a long gap of 17 years. The win also ended India’s 11-year wait for an ICC trophy. The Men in Blue beat South Africa by 7 runs in a thrilling final to win the tournament.

India also made history in the competition as they became the first team to win the T20 World Cup without losing a single match. Rohit Sharma led the team from the start and finished the tournament as India’s leading run-scorer. In the overall list, only Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored more runs than him.

Rohit Sharma trolled:

In 8 matches, Rohit Sharma scored 257 runs with the help of three fifties. And after the final against South Africa, the veteran batsman also announced his retirement from the shortest format of the game. As expected, fans are eagerly waiting to see the star batsman in action once again.

And ahead of his return to action, Rohit Sharma has been trolled by several fans on social media for allegedly editing his photo. Time and again, the Indian batting stalwart has been targeted for his physique and has landed in a similar situation once again.

Recently, Rohit Sharma posted a picture of himself during the training session on Instagram and the same picture was posted on social media by the BCCI. And some eagle-eyed users were quick to point out that Rohit edited the photo to hide his baby bump.

Meanwhile, Rohit will be looking to get off to a flying start when he returns to playing ODIs this week. He has not played an ODI since the World Cup final in November last year. The upcoming series against Sri Lanka is also India’s first ODI appearance of the year.
