Rohit Sharma gets angry at spider camera after losing DRS [WATCH]

The incident occurred during the 22nd over of New Zealand’s second innings.

India captain Rohit Sharma lost his cool and got angry at the spider camera on Day 2 of the IND vs NZ third Test in Mumbai.

During the 22nd over of New Zealand’s second innings, Ravichandran Ashwin trapped New Zealand batsman Daryl Mitchell on an LBW appeal. Although the on-field decision was not out of the question, Ashwin managed to convince Rohit for a DRS.

However, replays showed that the impact was outside and that the original decision was correct.

Soon after, when the camera panned towards Rohit to capture his reaction, he could be seen getting angry at the top spider camera and shooed it away with his hands.

Earlier in the day, the spider camera stopped moving due to a technical malfunction, forcing the referees to call for an early lunch. Watch the video below.

New Zealand denies India’s leadership

Talking about the match, the Indian team managed to take a slight lead of 28 runs after the end of their first innings, courtesy of a quickfire 59-ball 60 by Rishabh Pant and a crucial 90-run knock by Shubman Gill. For the Kiwis, Ajaz Patel finished with a fife.

Coming out to bat in their second innings, the Blackcaps have shown good intentions and have already denied India’s lead. At the time of writing, New Zealand’s score read 90 for 3 after 26 overs with Will Young and Daryl Mitchell at the crease and a lead of 62 runs.

The Indian team has already lost the three-match contest, going down in the first two, but will be eager to change their fortunes in a bid to avoid a whitewash.

A win will also play a big role in boosting the team’s momentum ahead of their next high-octane five-match Border Gavaskar Trophy in Australia, scheduled to start later this month on November 22.
