Rohit Sharma has started preparation for the Test series against the Bangladesh national cricket team. The Indian national cricket team captain has been training hard for the past few weeks and has been seen running around the field and working out in the gym ahead of the hectic Test season.

On Friday (September 6), Rohit was again spotted in the gym. The Indian captain was spotted at the newly renovated gym of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA). He was the first player to use the renovated facilities at the MCA headquarters and pictures from that moment went viral.

The Mumbai Cricket Association shared the images of Rohit taking part in an intense training session. They shared the images of the Indian National Cricket Team with the caption, “We are delighted to share a glimpse of the first person to use our newly renovated gym for a workout – our captain, Rohit Sharma. A new era in fitness begins with him at the helm.”

Rohit Sharma will be extremely crucial for the team in the upcoming Test series against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team. The right-handed bowler has been one of the best batsmen for the team in the longest format of the game for the past few years as he has been scoring loads of runs.

Rohit Sharma is the highest-ranked Indian batsman in the ICC Test rankings. The opening batsman has been the main reason behind the team’s success in the longest format of the game. Not just in the Bangladesh series, but he will be key for India in the entire Test season for the Indian National Cricket Team.

After the two-match Test series against Bangladesh, India will take on New Zealand in three Tests. They will travel to Australia in November to play the five-Test series in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. All the matches will be crucial for the team in the context of the World Test Championship.

India are currently at the top of the World Test Championship (WTC) standings with 74 points from 9 matches. Meanwhile, Australia are second, having amassed 90 points from 12 Tests in this cycle. The two look favourites to play in the final of the 2025 edition of the tournament.

The last time Rohit Sharma was seen in action was during the ODI series against the Sri Lanka national cricket team. The right-handed bowler was the team’s leading run-scorer in the 50-over series as he played an attacking style of cricket. While all the other batsmen were struggling to get going, he seemed in a different mood and scored two half-centuries.

Rohit Sharma will not only be important as a batsman but also as a leader of the team. A lot will depend on him as he will have to give his best as India look to secure a place in the World Test Championship final.
