A rookie player from Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has been included in their national team for the upcoming edition of the Ranji Trophy. Although he was unable to play for the Knight Riders, the player is touted as one of their brightest and future talents.

KKR’s young fast bowler Sakib Hussain is part of his home team, Bihar, for the upcoming red-ball carnival. He has not played any red-ball cricket so far but is expected to be part of the XI at some point this time.

So far, he has only played two matches for his state team in the T20 format, taking 4 wickets at 11.75 runs each in 2022. Apart from the T20 format, Sakib has not played in any other format at this level, but his recent The improvements and learnings from KKR’s camp will also help him debut in other formats.

Before being bought by the Knight Riders in the IPL 2024 auction, Sakib was playing in the nets for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Veer Pratap Singh to lead Bihar team in Ranji Trophy

After the late intervention of the Patna High Court, the Bihar team for the upcoming Ranji Trophy season has finally been decided. The decision was taken by the committee headed by Madhusudan Tantubhai.

Players of the Bihar team were caught in a fight after former BCA secretary Amiy Kumar and current president Rakesh Tiwari held two separate camps. However, after much drama and controversy, the team was selected and the 20-member team traveled to Rohtak for Bihar’s season opener against Haryana.

Veer Pratap Singh will be the captain of the team and Shakibul Gani will be the vice-captain. It will be interesting to see if Sakib will start for his state team in the first match.

Bihar is in Group C with Bengal, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. Their first match against Haryana starts tomorrow in Rohtak.
