Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have been almost unstoppable in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024). Everything has been going well for them so far and they are hoping to clinch their third IPL title.

KKR have not won the title since 2014 and would be desperate to go all the way this season. For the first time in their history, the two-time IPL champions finished on top of the points table. They have qualified for the playoffs with an impressive 20 points in 14 games.

The Shreyas Iyer-led team won nine games and lost three, while the remaining two were eliminated. Apart from finishing on top of the points table, KKR has also created history by finishing the league phase with the best net run rate by a team in the history of the IPL.

KKR has finished their campaign in the league stage with an impressive net run rate of +1.428. The record was previously held by Mumbai Indians for finishing the league stage in IPL 2020 with a net run rate of +1.107. KKR also became the third team in IPL history to have a net run rate of +1 or more.

The first team to achieve this feat is the Mumbai Indians, who did so in 2010 before repeating the feat in 2020. In 2015, Royal Challengers Bengaluru also had a net run rate of over 1.

KKR, SRH, RR and RCB have qualified for the playoffs in IPL 2024. KKR will face SRH in the first qualifier, while RR will play against RCB in the Playoff. The winner of the first qualifier will advance to the final, while the loser will face the winner of the Playoff for a place in the final.
