Fans on Twitter reacted after Rajasthan Royals (RR) advanced to Qualifier 2 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. They defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by 4 wickets in the Tournament Playoff at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. (May 22nd).

Royal Challengers Bengaluru got off to a decent start to their innings as captain Faf du Plessis (17) and Virat Kohli (33) added 37 runs for the opening partnership. Cameron Green (27) came off the bat at number three and played a decent innings. He, along with Rajat Patidar (34), added 41 runs for the third wicket.

But after that, Royal Challengers Bengaluru came under immense pressure as they lost wickets in quick succession and reeled at 122 for five. Mahipal Lomror (32) ultimately played a vital hand as Royal Challengers Bengaluru finished on a total of 172 for eight.

For Rajasthan Royals, Avesh Khan picked three wickets while Ravichandran Ashwin also bagged two wickets and Yuzvendra Chahal, Sandeep Sharma and Trent Boult picked one wicket each.

Chasing the target, Rajasthan Royals also got off to a great start. Tom Kohler-Cadmore (20) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (45) batted well at the top and added 46 runs for the opening stand. Sanju Samson made a start but failed to get going.

Rajasthan Royals lost wickets in the middle and were under pressure. However, Riyan Parag (36) maintained his team’s strength and continued his brilliant form with the bat and brought the team closer to him. Shimron Hetmyer (26) landed some strong blows as Rajasthan cruised to victory.

However, Mohammed Siraj brought his team back into the game and picked two wickets in the 18th over. But Rovman Powell (16*) held his nerve and took his team home and took them to Qualifier 2 of the tournament against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
