Shape of Sri Lanka and the West Indies
Sri Lanka would be very confident heading into the tour. They had an amazing outing in their last ODI series against the Indian National Cricket Team. Although Island National lost the T20I series, they won the 50-over series by a margin of 2-0.
The hosts were magnificent with bat and ball throughout the series. They beat the Indian team in the ODI series and entertained the crowd. They took advantage of the home conditions quite well and would be keen to do the same in the upcoming series against the West Indies national cricket team.
West Indies, on the other hand, are also in good form. They whitewashed the South Africa national cricket team in the three-match T20I series and would be eager to maintain their form in the upcoming series against Island Nation in both white-ball series.
With Sri Lanka and Windies entering the series after wins in their last series, it promises to be an exciting series between the teams. Both teams have had a tough last few years in international cricket and as they slowly rise to the top, they would like to make a statement.
The last time Sri Lanka and West Indies met in the ODI series was in 2020/21. The Caribbean team defeated their rivals by a margin of 3-0. They won all the games by a good margin and would hope to achieve the same in the upcoming 50-over series.
West Indies were also victorious in the last T20I series between the teams. They won all three matches by a 2-1 margin. They also faced each other in the 2021 T20 World Cup, and at that time, it was the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team who won the game by a margin of 21 runs.
