After conning Australia in Brisbane, West Indies pacer Shamar Joseph earned a reward for his performance and will now play for Peshawar Zalmi in the ninth season of the Pakistan Super League. Shamar Joseph took a nine-wicket haul in the second Test match against Australia in Brisbane and scripted the West Indies’ famous eight-run victory. The West Indies managed to level the two-match series at 1-1.

Khurram Shahzad, who will be partially available for PSL 9, has been replaced by Arshad Iqbal. Zalmi has also reserved his choice for Naveen-ul-Haq.

During Monday’s replacement draft, many other franchises added supplemental and replacement players to their team.

Karachi Kings all-rounder Kieron Pollard, who will be available for the partial portion of PSL 9, has been replaced by Zahid Mehmood, while the Kings have booked Tim Seifert’s replacement. Lahore Qalandars, on the other hand, have booked their replacements of Rashid Khan and Dan Lawrance. Bilmillah Khan will replace Wanindu Hasaranga at Quetta Gladiators.

Peshawar Zalmi also included Luke Wood and Sufyan Muqeem as their third and fourth picks and Islamabad United picked Haider Ali and Obed McCoy as their supplementary players. Multan Sultans added Mohammad Shehzad and Johnson Charles as their supplementary players in the third and fourth rounds, while Quetta Gladiators picked Laurie Evans as their third pick while they reserved their fourth pick. Karachi Kings picked Leus Du Plooy and Mohammad Rohid as supplementary players.

The ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League will begin on February 17 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, while the tournament will conclude on March 18 at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi. Six teams including Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi, Karachi Kings, Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators will again be part of the tournament and will face each other in a total of 34 games.

The tournament will be held in four cities including Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi. Karachi will host a total of 11 matches, which will include the playoffs and the final.
