Shan Masood transferred to Karachi Kings ahead of PSL 2024

Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood has been transferred to Karachi Kings ahead of Pakistan Super Kings (PSL) 2024. The left-hander has moved from Multan Sultans and in the wrist swap, Faisal Akram will now move from Karachi.

Karachi Kings, as part of the trade, will also give away their first pick in the diamond and silver round categories of the draft. Shan Masood has been one of the best batsmen in Pakistan cricket and captained the Multan Sultans in 2020. He was also part of the run to win the title in 2021.

Karachi Kings were also in need of a captain after Imad Wasim left the team. Shan Masood is now expected to captain the team. He has a decent track record as a captain in the league and has also performed some great knocks with the bat.

Shan Masood has so far played 42 matches in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and has accumulated 1318 runs. The left-hander scored 209 runs in just seven games during Multan Sultans’ title-winning run in 2021. He was the third-highest run-getter in the tournament.

We are delighted to welcome Shan Masood, Karachi Kings owner Salman Iqbal.

Karachi Kings owner Salman Iqbal spoke about the signing of Shan Masood. He said they were delighted to have him and praised the batsman for his leadership skills. He elaborated:

“We are delighted to welcome Shan Masood to the Karachi Kings. His wealth of experience, coupled with his notable achievements in the league, certainly brings a new dimension to our team.

“Shan’s leadership qualities and work ethic on and off the field align perfectly with our vision for the Kings. We eagerly anticipate his influence and believe that his presence will significantly strengthen our pursuit of success in the upcoming HBL PSL season.”

Shan Masood will be seen in action during the upcoming Test series against Pakistan, which will begin on December 14. He scored a magnificent 200 in the practice game.
