After reports suggested that Shreyas Iyer might miss the upcoming Ranji Trophy match due to a shoulder injury, he responded on social media to deny the rumours.
Reports claimed that Shreyas Iyer would need a week’s rest and would miss Mumbai’s upcoming match against Tripura. However, Shreyas refuted these claims about X and responded to the account that claimed them, calling them rumors.

Guys, seriously, let’s do some homework before posting news,” Shreyas replied.
Last week, Shreyas Iyer returned to form with a brilliant knock of 142 off 190 balls against Maharashtra in the Mumbai Ranji Trophy second round match. After turning his century, he told reporters that he needed to give his body some rest, regardless of what others might say.
“No matter what people outside think, I have to listen to my body because I know the threshold I have reached in recent years and based on that I will make the right decision and I hope my team does. Also (me),” he had told reporters after scoring a century against Maharashtra.

Recently, Mumbai announced the 16-member squad to play against Tripura starting October 26, and Iyer has been named in the squad. There is no replacement which means he is fit to play and unlike recent rumors claiming he is injured.
He scored a first-class century after 3 years.
Shreyas Iyer had been waiting for this century for a long time. His last first-class century for India was in November 2021 against New Zealand in Kanpur. The 29-year-old, who has not played a Test since the series against England earlier this year, is now looking to return to the Test team.
Meanwhile, as the IPL auction approaches, there have been reports that KKR may not retain their captain Shreyas Iyer as the franchise is believed to be looking for a new captain. In any case, KKR is likely to retain top players Rinku Singh, Andre Russell and Sunil Narine.
