India vice-captain Shubman Gill was seen taking batting tips from legendary batsmen Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma ahead of the third ODI between India and Sri Lanka. The match will be played at the R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.

Gill has not been in good form in this series. In the first match, he looked out of place and was dismissed for 16 off 35 balls as he tried to break the shackles. In the second ODI, Gill started well and looked good.

However, he was brilliantly caught at first slip by Kamindu Mendis off the delivery of Jeffrey Vandersay.

In total, he has scored just 51 runs in two ODIs in the series so far, which is well below his overall standards. Shubman Gill will be looking to play a match-winning innings in the final ODI and prove that the selectors’ decision to appoint him vice-captain was correct.

Indian batsmen struggle against Sri Lankan bowlers

The pitch has offered good help to the bowlers, which has limited Gill’s scoring zones a bit. But the youngster has enough talent to overcome his weakness and emerge victorious. It remains to be seen how he will cope with the Sri Lankan bowlers in the final ODI.

Heading into the series, Team India will be under pressure as they are trailing 0-1. The first match of the series ended in a draw, while Sri Lanka secured a memorable win in the second match.

Sri Lankan bowlers have been the heroes of the team in both matches so far. While in the first match it was Dunith Wellalage, Wanindu Hasaranga and Charith Asalanka, in the second ODI Jeffrey Vandersay was at the forefront of the Indian batsmen.
