He has now admitted the crime and accepted the proposed sanction.
Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) explosive wicketkeeper-batsman Heinrich Klaasen has been punished for violating the ICC Code of Conduct during the recent SA vs PAK second ODI. What happened was that Klaasen kicked the stumps after his dismissal on the last ball of the match, just three runs short of his century of 97.
Klaasen, who became the highest-paid retained player after SRH shelled out a staggering INR 23 crore, has now been fined 15 per cent of his match fee.
The 33-year-old man breached Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct which relates to,
“Abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings during an international match.”
Heinrich Klaasen also accepted the violation and accepted the penalty suggested by Richie Richardson of the ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees, eliminating the need for a formal hearing.

Additionally, a demerit point was added to Klaasen’s disciplinary record, marking his first offense in a 24-month period.
The charge was filed by on-field umpires Alex Wharf and Lubabalo Gcuma, along with third umpire Nitin Menon and fourth umpire Allahuddien Palekar.
Level 1 offenses carry sanctions ranging from an official caution to a fine of up to 50 per cent of a player’s match fee, along with one or two demerit points.
Talking about the match, Klaasen’s reaction was understandable as not only did he miss out on his century, but South Africa conceded the three-match ODI series. With a huge defeat of 81 runs, the Proteas lost the first two games of the series.
The hosts now hope to make amends and avoid a whitewash when the teams meet in the series finale on December 22.
