Toss Zimbabwe chose to bat against Sri Lanka
Zimbabwe elected to bat first in the third ODI against Sri Lanka, having won the toss under overcast skies at Kettarama.
The visitors made three changes to their replaces Tinashe Kamunhukamwe. at the top of the order.
The other change is the re-entry of a fit-again Wanindu Hasaranga, who strengthens the hitting further down the order as well as providing a top spin option. This will be his first ODI since the World Cup Qualifying tournament in July last year. He had missed the entire Asia Cup and World Cup, as well as the first two matches of this series, due to injury. Legspinner Jeffrey Vandersay makes way for him.
Although Zimbabwe lost the second match, their players had made a chase of 209 incredibly difficult for Sri Lanka, even dominating at times. Their seamers, led by Richard Ngarava, were especially effective. They must win this match to be able to square the series.
The two previous matches at Kettarama were affected by rain. The first match ended without a result, while the second suffered a significant delay due to rain, although not enough to reduce the number of overs. At the draw it seemed likely that rain would also play a role in this game.
