Sri Lanka is all set to take on India in the second ODI of the ongoing IND vs SL ODI series. The match will be held on Sunday, August 4. The match will be hosted by Colombo City at the R Premadasa Stadium. The first match ended in a draw, so the three-match series is tied 0-0.
Charith Asalanka is the captain of Sri Lanka in the ODI series against India. His team needs to put in the work to get the better of Team India in the series. Ahead of their second clash between the two teams, below is Sri Lanka’s predicted starting XI for the match.

Sri Lanka picked their best playing XI in the first ODI and will retain it in the second. Thus, Pathum Nissanka would open the batting for the team and continue his wonderful form.
Avishka Fernando
Avishka Fernando was not part of the T20I series but is now part of the ODI series. He was bowled out cheaply for 1 run in the first game but will look to make a comeback in the next match.
Kusal Mendis (WK)
Kusal Mendis would also be left with the one-out position in the second ODI. He was bowled out for 14 runs in the first game, however, he will aim for a good performance in the next one. He will also keep the stumps for the team.

Sadeera Samarawickrama
Sadeera Samarawickrama will be another power-hitting batsman in Sri Lanka’s middle order. He has shown impressive form in the 50 overs over the last year. He was bowled out for 8 in the first match.
Charith Asalanka (C)
Charith Asalanka is the captain of Sri Lanka in the IND vs SL ODI series and will lead the team in the upcoming match as well. He helped the team after the initial dismissals in the opening match and will be looking for a similar performance in the upcoming match as well.
Janith Liyanage
Janith Liyanage is a good option of fast-paced all-rounder for Sri Lanka and he will play a dual role in the second ODI as well. The right-handed batsman has played 11 ODI matches for the team and has impressed everyone with his good performance.

Wanindu Hasaranga
Wanindu Hasaranga will be a key member of the starting XI as he is an all-rounder who can bowl with spin and will be very useful in Colombo. Sri Lankan pitches are conducive to bowling with spin and all-rounders play an important role as they can contribute with both bat and ball.
Chamika Karunaratne
Sri Lanka played Mohamed Shiraz in the last match but they are likely to replace him with Chamika Karunaratne. He is a quick all-rounder who can bowl from the start and also score runs in the batting order.
Dunith Wastewater Treatment

Asitha Fernando is a right-handed pace bowler who has played 9 ODI matches for Sri Lanka and bowls at a medium pace. He will benefit from the wind movements in Sri Lanka being a pace bowler. In the absence of key pace players, he needs to put in maximum effort.
