Rishabh Pant, on Wednesday (April 24), received a painful blow on his thigh during the match between Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

The incident took place in the 13th innings when the DC captain decided to face the stumps when Rasikh Dar Salam was bowling. With pinch-hitter Shahrukh Khan in the crease, Rishabh Pant probably didn’t want him to bat from outside the crease and decided to stand just behind the stump.

However, he failed to pick up the fifth ball of the over and ended up suffering a painful knock. It was a long delivery from the right-arm pacer who leaned sharply after the delivery. Shahrukh Khan was beaten in every sense as the ball snuck through his bat and pad. Rishabh Pant also failed to collect the ball and hit him on the thigh.

The DC star immediately winced in pain and began limping. He immediately decided to back off and not stay behind the stumps. Rishabh Pant looked in pain and was limping profusely. However, he managed to stay on the field and lead his team. DC will hope that the blow was not serious and that his talismanic captain continues to ply her trade for them.
