England speeder Jofra Archer is preparing well for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. The fast bowler bowled a fiery spell of fast bowling for Sussex’s second XI in the County Championship at Beckenham on Friday (May 17).
Jofra Archer was corralled by the Sussex second XI for day 4 of the match against Kent. The pacer made sure to ooze class with the ball and showed that she is still as dangerous as she was before her long layoff due to injury. He worried the Kent batsmen, who seemed clueless against him.
Jofra Archer bowled 6 overs in the game against Kent and made sure to go full speed ahead. The fast bowler picked a wicket with his impeccable lines and lengths. She hit Kent batsman Ekansh Singh on the helmet before taking him to one of the slips with a delivery that rose sharply.

Jofra Archer will now join England for the T20I series against Pakistan. The Jos Buttler-led team will host the Babar Azam-led team for the four-match series ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024. The matches will be played between May 22 and 30 and will serve as a great preparation for both the teams.
The series against England will mark Jofra Archer’s return to international cricket after a long layoff due to injury. His career has been marred by numerous injuries that have not allowed him to play. She returned to international cricket in 2023 against South Africa and picked a 6-fer.
However, after that he got injured again in the IPL 2023. The pacer then missed the ICC World Cup 2023 and has been working hard since then. He has returned to full fitness and would now be eager to make a mark in international cricket when he returns to action against Pakistan and will also be an important factor for his team in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
It’s a big boost for him to be back – Jos Buttler on Jofra Archer
England captain Jos Buttler expressed his delight at having Jofra Archer back in the team. He highlighted the quality that the pacemaker brings with him but is also aware that they need to review expectations of him because the fast player is coming back from an injury. He stated quoted by the Independent:
“It’s a big boost for him to come back and see him ready to play. Everyone knows what he’s capable of and the attitude he has. As a captain, he’s someone you can always call on in a game because he always has a trick.” under the sleeve.
“It’s great to be able to call on him, but it’s important to manage expectations. He’s been out of the game for a while, so we’ll have to look after him and realize that it may take a little time for him to become the Jofra of 2019. “He’s a real superstar but we have to be smart with him. It’s a leap in intensity from what he’s doing now in international cricket and it can’t really be replicated.”
England will open their ICC T20 World Cup 2024 campaign against Scotland. The match will take place on June 4.
