Tanvir Ahmed slams Pakistan Test team

Former Pakistani cricketer Tanvir Ahmed has reacted strongly to the humiliating 10-wicket defeat of the Shad Masood-led Pakistan cricket team against Bangladesh in the first Test of the ongoing two-match Test series at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday, August 25.

Surprisingly, Pakistan’s batting line-up crumbled spectacularly in the second innings as they were bowled out for just 146 runs against Bangladesh. Bangladesh’s bowlers unleashed a relentless attack, leaving Pakistan’s batsmen in tatters throughout the second innings.

The debacle has sparked outrage among cricket fans and pundits, with many questioning the Pakistan team’s commitment and preparation for the ongoing home Test series against the Tigers.

Meanwhile, this marked Bangladesh’s first win over Pakistan in 14 Test matches. With this win, India and South Africa are now the only teams Bangladesh is yet to defeat in Test cricket. Also, this is the first time Pakistan has suffered a 10-wicket defeat in a home Test, including matches played in the UAE.

After losing the first Test, Pakistan captain Masood said: “I never want to make excuses, but it (the pitch) didn’t work out the way we thought it would.”

They will now face each other in the second and final Test at the same venue in Rawalpindi starting from August 30. After the tour of Pakistan, Bangladesh will travel to India for a two-match Test series.
