Former Pakistan cricketer Tanvir Ahmed has lashed out at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) amid reports of Waqar Younis being appointed as Director of Cricket Affairs. He claimed that everyone would now praise him and highlighted that he did nothing good when he was a part of the PCB earlier.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is all set to take a big step. According to PTI reports, it is learnt that the board chief will hand over all cricketing matters to former Pakistan captain Waqar Younis and he will only look after administrative matters.
A source close to the Pakistan Cricket Board said that Chairman Mohsin Naqvi wants Waqar Younis to take responsibility and work with Gary Kirsten and Jason Gillespie to take care of both international and domestic cricket. He told PTI:
“Waqar Younis is a leading candidate to be handed the full responsibility of looking after men’s cricket, including liaising with the two foreign coaches, the national selectors and the domestic cricket departments.”
The source also added that Mohsin Naqvi does not want to centralise all the powers as he wants someone to look after the cricket matters. He wants the director of cricket to review all the cricket calendars. He added:
“Naqvi does not want to centralise all powers but to decentralise things, especially when it comes to cricket-related matters. In future, even the international cricket schedules and matters will be overseen by the director of cricket. As the federal home minister, Naqvi believes it is only fair that all cricket-related matters are handled by specialists and not just by people from the administration.”

Following reports that Waqar Younis has been given the post of director of cricket affairs, former Pakistan cricketer Tanvir Ahmed highlighted how the former captain of the team did not do anything good last time. Taking to his Twitter account, he explained:
Mashallah, once again the work of the board has been affected by Waqar Younis Sahib, it is said that people in the board have said that they have made it happen, now my friend or colleague will praise Younis Sahib (Mashallah, once again the post of Pakistan Cricket Board director has been given to Waqar Younis. What did he do in his last stint? Everyone is enjoying him and now all his friends and acquaintances will start praising him.
Mashallah, once again the work of the board has been affected by Waqar Younis Sahib. This is what the people of the board have said in the right way. Now every friend or colleague will praise Younis Sahib.

An official confirmation on this is yet to be announced but if the reports turn out to be true, it will be a big step in Pakistan cricket. The team has been under pressure for a while due to their poor performances and they are hoping that things will change.
The next match against Pakistan national cricket team will be in action during the test series against Bangladesh national cricket team. The series will be played from August 21 to September 3.
