"The best spinner" – Dhanashree Verma’s sensational statement as she penned a heartfelt note on Yuzvendra Chahal’s birthday

Indian spin star Yuzvendra Chahal celebrated his 34th birthday on Tuesday (July 23). The spinner’s wife Dhanashree Verma made the day even more special for him by penning a heartfelt message to her husband.

Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree tied the knot in 2020 during the pandemic. The love story began during the COVID-19 lockdown when the dancer approached Dhanashree, a talented choreographer, for online dance lessons. And it didn’t take long for the teacher-student relationship to turn into romance. The lovebirds were also quick to take their relationship to the next stage by tying the knot.

On Tuesday, Dhanashree posted a beautiful message for her husband on Instagram. She posted a picture of herself with Yuzvendra Chahal, in which they are seen being very affectionate and in which she refers to her husband as the best bowler and praised his skill and winning mentality.

“The best pitcher and a winner. Your skills and passion to win for your team are the greatest quality you have… May God always shower you with blessings… You will always be your own biggest cheerleader. Happy birthday @yuzi_chahal23”

Yuzvendra Chahal made his debut for Team India in 2016 and quickly became an indispensable part of the white-ball teams, though he has struggled to find regular opportunities in recent times. So far, he has played 72 ODIs and 80 T20Is for Team India, taking 121 and 96 wickets respectively.

End of the road for Yuzvendra Chahal?

Last month, Yuzvendra Chahal was part of the Indian squad that won the 2024 T20 World Cup. However, he did not play a single match in the competition as the team management preferred players like Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja ahead of him.

And last week, he was dropped from the T20I squad for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. He has also not been a part of the ODI squad for quite some time now. With the likes of Ravi Bishnoi, Kuldeep and Axar ahead of him in the pecking order, many believe that it is the end of the road for Yuzvendra Chahal in international cricket.

While Chahal has struggled to get regular opportunities in international cricket, he has continued to perform well in the IPL. He also fared well in the competition this year, taking 18 wickets to help Rajasthan Royals reach the playoffs.
