
Powell has taken Western Indies to Victorias Series about India, England and South Africa
The former SUV of the Super Kings of Chennai, Dwayne Bravo, fell strongly in the western Indies of Cricket (CWI) for his decision to fire Rovman Powell as Captain of T20i of the Western Indies and replacing him with Shai Hope.
Powell, who took care of the Captaincy full in March 2023 and took the Windies to La Victoria in 19 of the 37 games that was the employer.
The sudden decision followed by publications on social networks and a statement by CWI director, Miles Bascombe, was not good with Bravo, who described the last decision as “one of the worst decisions in history.”

In the statement, Bosocombe said the hope was marked to take care of Powell’s reins by the boss coach and the winning captain of the T20 World Cup Darren Sammy.
“I have expressed to him (Powell) that he should feel worthy for his contributions to the Crick of the Western Indies, since he has played a crucial role in raising our T20 team to new heights. His leadership has left a solid base, and we are grateful for his efforts,” said Bascome.
Sammy added it by saying:
“As the team continues its evolution, Hope combines instinctive decision making with analytical precision, using in -depth coincide datches and player performance information to shape the strategy.”

Under Powell’s captaincy, the Western Indies recorded the T20i series wins on South Africa twice and beat India and England.
Dwayne Bravo does not stop
Bravo, who is currently the mentor of Indian Premier League (IPL), defenders of Kolkata Knight Riders, turned to ‘X’ to criticize the CWI.
“@Windiescricket Once again, you demonstrate the people of the Caribbean and the world of Cricket that the injustices for the players continue! As a former player and fan of Wi Cricket, this is easily one of the worst decisions in history. [Powell] Taking charge of the captaincy when our T20 team was in the ninth place and could move on to the third sport in the ranking and that is how you pay it. Bad treatment towards players would stop! This is very sad at all levels … makes sense! ”, Bravo published.
Powell had last led to the Windies in the series of three games at home against Bangladesh in December last year, which they lost 0-3.
In addition to the change in T20i leadership, the Western Indies also saw Kraigg Bathwaite renounce as a test captain after eight years. The first level batter had led the Western Indies in 39 tests, won 10 and lost 22.
