According to the latest reports from Sports Tak, the schedule for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be announced in October. The tournament will be played in Pakistan next year in February-March.
Reports claimed that the International Cricket Council will send a delegation to Pakistan in the coming days to check the preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), in the last few months, has been taking great strides to make things seamless for the tournament.
It is learnt that after the International Cricket Council officials visit Pakistan to assess the 2025 Champions Trophy, the governing body will announce the schedule. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recently announced the preliminary schedule and something similar is expected to be on the way.
A source close to Sports Tak mentioned that they are hopeful that the schedule and tickets for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be announced soon. He also mentioned that the budget has been allocated and the governing body will make an announcement soon. He explained:
“We expect that the details of the programme and tickets will be announced immediately after the ICC delegation’s visit. The process has already been delayed, so we hope that the ICC will make the announcement soon. We have the budget allocated and preparations are progressing as planned. Now, it is up to the ICC to decide.”
Recently, Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Moshin Naqvi also made a bold statement related to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. He mentioned that the tournament will be held in Pakistan and they are also in talks with BCCI Secretary Jay Shah for the participation of the Indian team.
Lately, several reports have surfaced suggesting that the Indian team will not travel to Pakistan for the tournament. It is learnt that they will need government clearance to participate in the tournament. The two nations, due to political tensions, do not play each other in bilateral series.
ICC Champions Trophy 2025 to be played across three venues in Pakistan
According to the preliminary schedule, the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be played across three venues in Pakistan. Lahore will host seven matches, five matches will be played in Rawalpindi and three matches will reportedly be held in Karachi.
The preliminary schedule also suggests that the Indian national cricket team will play all the matches in Lahore. Reports also mention that the India vs Pakistan match will be held at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on March 1.
The 2025 ICC Champions Trophy will be held from February 19 to March 9. It will be the first time the tournament has been played since 2017. Pakistan are the reigning champions and will want to defend their title on home soil and give fans something to celebrate.
