Afghanistan coach Jonathan Trott praised opening batsman Rahmanullah Gurbaz for his outstanding performance in the second ODI against Bangladesh. Trott emphasized that the more time Rahmanullah Gurbaz spends in the fold, the better the team’s chances of winning.

Speaking after the match, jonathan trott he expressed his satisfaction with the opening partnership, saying that Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran provided a solid start.

Afghanistan posted a whopping total of 331 for 9 from his 50 overs after being asked to bat first. Gurbaz and Ibrahim added a record opening partnership of 256 runs. Ibrahim also broke a century, scoring 100 runs off 119 balls.

The former England batsman said Rahmanullah Gurbaz should trust his natural instincts rather than worry about technical aspects.
“I think it was about Gurbaz being as still as possible at launch. Sometimes it is moving. Sometimes a player as talented as Gurbaz can get carried away with technique instead of just looking at the ball.” further added.

“It’s about making the game as simple as possible with Gurbaz’s eye-hand coordination. It’s about being simple in the mind, technically too. He has worked hard so hopefully I can back him up in the third ODI.” He concluded.
Afghanistan will face Bangladesh in the third and final game of the series at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Tuesday, July 11.
