Gautam Gambhir posted a cryptic message after his on-field altercation with his former India teammate S Sreesanth. The former India teammates were involved in a heated exchange during the Legends League cricket match between India Capitals and Gujarat Giants in Surat on Wednesday (December 6).

The exchange started as early as the second over of the game when Gautam Gambhir was taking on S Sreesanth. The former India opener welcomed his former teammate by hitting him for a six and a four. Later, when the pacer bowled a point, he decided to take a long look at the Capitals captain. Gautam Gambhir did not like him at all and he reacted instantly.

Later in the game, they were involved in another altercation and had to be separated by other players and the referee. After the end of the game, S Sreesanth criticized Gautam Gambhir for provoking him for no reason. He also stated that he is deeply hurt by what the former India batsman said.

Gautam Gambhir replies:

Gautam Gambhir has been facing criticism on social media ever since S Sreesanth accused him of saying something unpleasant. Gambhir finally decided to break his silence and made his intentions clear with a post on of craving attention.

He posted a photo of himself smiling with the caption: “Smile when the world is all about attention!”

Before Gautam Gambhir’s post, S Sreesanth had said, “I just wanted to shed some light on what happened with Mr. Fighter, who always fights with all his colleagues for no reason. He doesn’t even respect his own senior players including Viru bhai and many people. That’s exactly what happened today. Without any provocation, he kept calling me, which is very rude and something Mr. Gautam Gambhir should not have said.

“So, I just want to tell everyone that I am not at all guilty. He just wanted to clear things up right away. Sooner or later you will know what Gauti has done. The words he used and the things he said live on a cricket field are not acceptable,” he added.
