Former Indian cricketer Abhishek Nayar played a pivotal role in Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) title win during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. KKR bowlers defeated SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the final of IPL 2024 in Chennai. The SRH team scored only 113 runs, the lowest total in an IPL final. Andre Russell took three wickets, while Mitchell Starc and Harshit Rana claimed two wickets each. Kolkata easily chased down the target in 10.3 overs.
Abhishek Nayar has been a mentor to the young talents of the Kolkata Knight Riders Academy. Nayar has played an important role in nurturing emerging Indian players. 18-year-old Angkrish Raghuvanshi made an impact in his debut season with the Knight Riders in the recent edition of the cash-rich league.
In a viral video on social media, YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia asked Abhishek Nayar if players are discouraged from having sexual relations that affect their performance as athletes.
“Final topic, sex in cricket? Is it a factor in the players’ lives?” the presenter asked.
Ronaldo Nazario, the Brazilian soccer legend, once admitted that he had sex before some matches after winning the 2002 FIFA World Cup title. Ronaldo said that he found it beneficial for concentration. He noted that not all coaches allowed it, but he felt that it sometimes improved his performance on the field.

“Are you asking this positively or negatively? You have asked a very open question. It will happen. What human being will survive without it? But is it good or bad? Is that your question? or is your question ‘kitna hota hai?'” Nayar responded.
“I want to answer this, but I want to see what you answer with me,” the host responded.
“It is normal for anyone to do it. It is different for everyone. There is a constant struggle and enigma in the mind of every cricketer. Some people will like it, others will refrain. Some cricketers believe that their power and concentration They tend to get better if they don’t have sex, while others follow that and end up concluding that nothing has changed for them. So this is a very individual thing. There is no general rule. The fact is, at different stages of life. things work. You’re desperate, but sometimes there’s so much pressure that you want to relax,” Nayar said.

Abhishek Nayar will return to the cricket scene next year for the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will hold a mega auction before the tournament begins.
