“They are not afraid…” – Madan Lal applauds Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan for their sensational show in Rajkot

Former Indian cricketer Madan Lal applauded India’s opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal and debutant Sarfaraz Khan for their splendid performances in the third Test at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot. His knocks, along with centuries from Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja in the first innings, helped the Indians to their biggest Test win by 434 runs.

While Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a fine double century, the second in this series and in his career, Sarfaraz Khan also had a dream start to his Test career after receiving his first Test cap from legend Anil Kumble in the first morning. The duo even batted together in the third innings, ensuring England achieved a target of 500-plus.

Before becoming teammates in the national team, both Sarfaraz and Jaiswal were teammates for Mumbai in the domestic circuit. They have played together on several occasions in the Ranji Trophy and their chemistry in the middle was demonstrated yesterday when both of them congratulated each other.

In fact, they even had a small argument after Yashasvi Jaiswal refused to take a double that could have taken Sarfaraz Khan to 49, but fortunately it was just a warm-up moment in the game that didn’t really have any effect on their games.

After Sarfaraz completed his half-century, Jaiswal followed up with a double century and the former celebrated prematurely and raised his bat in the air even before Jaiswal completed the single for his 200. They made a 72-run partnership for the sixth over. wicket and intrigued former Indian cricketer Madan Lal by saying that the next generation is ready.

“This young generation is quite good, they have a lot of experience playing first-class cricket, IPL cricket, they are not afraid to hit the ball. If you look at their batting style, they are much more positive. The way they play the shots shows that they are very confident and that can only be achieved when you play a lot of cricket. That’s why they are champions. The next generation is preparing for India,” Madan Lal said via IANS.

He also stated that if Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan want to continue doing this, they will have to ensure that they are consistent at all times to have a long career. “Yashasvi has class thanks to his consistent performance and Sarfaraz needs to continue performing the same way as his journey has just begun.”

“These new kids have just started,” says Madan Lal on the omission of Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan over Kohli and Rahul

Madan Lal was then asked how the Indian team management will behave in terms of team management with players like Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer. To this, he replied that established players will always be given preference, but highlighted that the presence of Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan in the team is good.

“I think it is a good sign, as you talk about KL, Virat and Shreyas, they have done much better. And these new kids are just getting started. Therefore, preference will be given to established players. They have won many games for the country, at home or abroad. It is good that we have a good talent pool and those who are on the frontier will have to fight for their place,” concluded Madan Lal.
