Pakistan national cricket team has appointed former Australian coach Tim Nielsen as the high performance coach in the longest format of the game. The changes come ahead of the two-match Test series against the Bangladesh national cricket team.

Pakistan is all set to host Bangladesh in the two-match Test series later this month. The Test series will begin on August 21 in Rawalpindi followed by the second match to be played in Karachi from August 30. Both matches will be part of the ICC Test Championship.

Pakistan national cricket team has been under the spotlight for a while now due to their recent poor results. However, ahead of the Test series against Bangladesh national cricket team, they are making sure that they score almost all the points and come into the series fully prepared.

The addition of Tim Nielsen to the Pakistan National Cricket Team coaching staff will be a big boost for the team. Having coached the Australian National Cricket Team, his experience will no doubt be a big factor for the team ahead of the Test series against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team.

Tim Nielsen will be working with Test head coach Jason Gillespie. The two have worked together in the past. They have worked together in South Australia and would like to make an impact on the Pakistan National Cricket Team in the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh.

Tim Nielsen’s career over the years

Tim Nielsen was Australia’s head coach from February 2007 to September 2011. He replaced the legendary John Buchanan in the role. Under his leadership, the Australian national cricket team won the Champions Trophy in 2010 and also recorded famous victories in all three formats.

Tim Nielsen also played on the domestic circuit for South Australia. He played 101 first-class and 49 List A matches, scoring over 3,800 runs in first-class cricket and 639 runs in the List A format. He also did a decent job with the gloves for the team.

Tim Nielsen, despite having a decent record, did not play for Australia but has done well as a coach. He joined Jason Gillespie’s team and is helping oversee Pakistan’s Shaheen training camp ahead of the Test series against Bangladesh.

The upcoming Test series will be extremely crucial for the Pakistan National Cricket Team. They have announced their squad for the Test series and are working hard ahead of the series. Under the leadership of Shan Masood, they are looking forward to a fresh start.

Pakistan is currently fifth in the World Test Championship (WTC) table, just 2 points behind fourth-placed Sri Lanka. The last time they played against Bangladesh, they won the series by a 2-0 margin. It will be a great opportunity for them to pick up crucial points.

Imam-Ul-Haq, Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Nawaz, Noman Ali and Sajid Khan have been dropped from the Pakistan squad. The management has brought in new faces in the team and is hoping that the players will perform well.
