Jindal named the two players who were going to share leadership roles.
Delhi Capitals (DC) made a big decision by sacking their previous captain Rishabh Pant before the retention deadline. It was then expected that the DC management would look to bring back another of their former leader Shreyas Iyer in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) auction.
While DC remained in the hunt for Iyer for the longest time, they were eventually overtaken by Punjab Kings, who made Shreyas Iyer the second most expensive buy in IPL history at INR 26.75 crore. DC finally settled for KL Rahul for a steal deal of INR 14 crore and it is widely believed that Delhi had found a captain.
However, in the same vein, Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal made a big revelation about the captaincy for the upcoming season. Jindal hinted at a dual captaincy system, which will be shared between KL Rahul and Axar Patel.
Parth Jindal explained: “We have a very young batting line-up. Both KL and Axar will lead and guide them. “KL’s batting and experience will be a vital cog.”
