USA simply have to avoid defeat against Ireland in order to progress into the Super 8’s and with a very dodgy weather forecast down in Florida, that should well happen.

USA FORM: MAKING HISTORY
USA began the tournament by defeating their North American rivals Canada in an excellent chase with Aaron Jones’ 94 from 40 balls seeing them hit 197-3 in just 17.4 overs in Texas. That was then followed up by a dramatic super over win against Pakistan in one of the great upsets in World Cup history before a valiant effort but eventual defeat to India in New York.

IRELAND FORM: A DISAPPOINTING CAMPAIGN
After some excellent performances, most notably against Pakistan, prior to the tournament, Ireland came in with some expectation. However, a tricky start against India in which they were bowled out for double figures in 16 overs was then made worse when they suffered a 12-run loss to Canada in their second match, meaning they need something of a miracle to qualify.

USA BETTING ANALYSIS
The opening bowling of both Saurabh Netravalkar and Ali Khan has been excellent against both Pakistan and India. If they do get on the park in Florida then the overheads may well suit Netravalkar’s swing and given that Ireland lost eight wickets to pace against India and then four to Canada, backing him to take two or more wickets (13/8) is worth a shot.
As for the batting side of the game, captain and wicket-keeper Monank Patel missed out due to injury against India but is expected back for this one. Despite that, it remains the case that Andries Gous and Aaron Jones are their most impressive looking strikers at the moment and Gous (5/6) and Jones (5/6) to score over 18.5 runs in the match would seem likely.
IRELAND BETTING ANALYSIS
Ireland have a couple of real stars in their side with both Paul Stirling and Josh Little just mis-firing at this early but crucial stage. Stirling made nine and two against Canada and India respectively, whilst Little has combined figures of 0-79 in eight overs so far.
Again, though, the overheads of poor weather in Florida would surely mean the extra pace of Little’s left-arm would do more damage than the likes of the pace off bowlers Craig Young and Barry McCarthy so Little returning to being Ireland’s best bowler in the match (16/5) could be worth backing.
USA VS IRELAND EXPERT
PREDICTION
It will be interesting to see how the USA’s bowlers fare away from the bowler friendly conditions of New York as they did concede over 190 when playing in Texas against Canada but they have shown real signs of genuine excellence. Ireland, on the other hand, will be disappointed with their campaign so far, albeit we are only two games in. Rain is expected to win the day but the USA coming out on top and producing another shock would be worth a bet if they do get out into the middle.
