Pakistan and controversy go hand in hand. And it seems that the Pakistan team could be embroiled in yet another controversy due to a video featuring their captain Shan Masood and Shaheen Afridi.
Pakistan team is facing harsh criticism once again after losing the recently concluded Rawalpindi Test match against Bangladesh. It is their first defeat against Bangladesh in the longest format of the game. The tourists inflicted a humiliating 10-wicket defeat on the Shan Masood-led side to record the historic win.
Pakistan suffered defeat following an inexplicable batting collapse on the fifth day of the Test. With Bangladesh wrapping up their first innings at the end of the fourth day, the Test looked destined to end in a draw. However, the hosts lost as many as five wickets in the first session of the fifth day before eventually being bowled out for just 146 runs to set Bangladesh a target of 30 runs.
Bangladesh claimed the total in less than seven overs to take an unassailable lead in the two-match series. As Pakistan players face heavy criticism from all sides for their poor performance, a video has surfaced on social media, hinting that all is not well inside the Pakistan dressing room.
The video features captain Shan Masood and Shaheen Afridi. The two were standing side by side as the Pakistan captain was delivering a speech during a team meeting. As is usually the case during a team meeting, Shan Masood kept his arm on Afridi’s shoulder. However, the left-handed pacer quickly pulled the captain’s arm away.

The video was posted a day after another video caused a stir on social media. In that video, Shan Masood could be seen having a heated argument with coach Jason Gillespie in the dressing room.
As for the Test, Pakistan declared their first innings at 448/6. In reply, Bangladesh scored 565 runs to take a 117-run lead. In the second innings, Pakistan’s batsmen failed to deliver before the tourists registered the famous win. The second and final Test of the series is scheduled to begin on August 30 in Rawalpindi.
