Australia Women’s National Cricket Team captain Alyssa Healy was recently asked to rank the Fab Four batsmen of the current generation and she placed Indian great Virat Kohli at the bottom of the list.

Alyssa Healy is undoubtedly one of the greatest Australian cricketers of all time and has won eight World Cups and a Commonwealth Games gold medal. She has played over 200 matches for the Australian team and in those matches, she has played some exceptional innings for her team.

Meanwhile, Mitchell Starc’s better half Healy was recently given the difficult task of ranking the Fab Four batsmen in order from highest to lowest. Before revealing her ranking, Alyssa Healy made it very clear that she would judge the players based on numbers and surprisingly, she placed Virat Kohli at the bottom of the table.

“They’re all very good, but if I’m going purely on numbers, I’m going to put Kohli fourth, even though I actually rate him number one in everything else. But if I’m going on numbers, Kohli is going to be fourth for me. I look at it analytically. I think about how much cricket he plays and that’s where I look at his stats.

“And they’re remarkable considering the amount of cricket he plays and the pressure he’s under. But if I look at it analytically, he’s going to be fourth,” Alyssa Healy said on the ‘LiSTNR Sport’ podcast.

It is noteworthy that Virat Kohli is miles ahead of the other Fab Four batsmen if the numbers from international cricket across all formats are combined.

However, Test cricket is one place where Kohli falls behind the likes of Joe Root, Kane Williamson and Steve Smith as his average is below 50. Apart from this, Kohli has scored more than 14000 runs in ODIs and 4000 runs in T20Is while his competitors are yet to breach the 7000 and 3000 runs mark in the two white-ball formats.

Virat Kohli is the best player in the world, let’s face it, but… – Alyssa Healy

Meanwhile, Alyssa Healy placed New Zealand star Kane Williamson at the top of the ‘Fantastic Four’ list based on his contributions to the team over the years. She added that Virat Kohli is the best player in the world but he has adequate support from players like Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja in the team.

“Williamson has carried the entire New Zealand team, while for Virat he is the best player in the world, let’s face it. But with him, it’s like someone else is always there. Rohit Sharma can score hundreds. KL Rahul can score 100.

“Even [Ravindra] “Jadeja can score 100 points at No. 8. He always has someone else, but I think if Williamson doesn’t make those runs, New Zealand won’t be anywhere near winning,” Healy added.
