Former UK Prime Minister David Cameron lavished high praise on Indian national cricket team batsman Virat Kohli. He praised the leadoff batsman’s leadership and said he was an extraordinary leader and had a similar impact to what Ben Stokes had on the England team.

Indian national cricket team batsman Kohli is the biggest face of cricket. The kind of impact he has had on the game has been sensational and has been one of the main reasons why team India is one of the fiercest teams in world cricket.

Kohli, considered the best batsman of the current generation, was one of the best captains to lead the Indian National Cricket Team. The right-hander took charge of the team in Tests first when MS Dhoni retired and then also took over the white-ball captaincy.

Virat Kohli made the Indian national cricket team the most dominant on the world stage. It was thanks to him that the team began to win tests in overseas conditions. He finished as the team’s best captain in the nation’s longest format of the game and also had decent success in white-ball cricket.

Former British Prime Minister David Cameron, speaking about Virat Kohli’s leadership, said that like Ben Stokes, the India batsman showed incredible captaincy on the field and was an inspiration. He believes that many young players will be on the same page and take India forward. Speaking during an event with NDTV, he explained:

“I think in Virat Kohli you had an extraordinary leader. Sometimes you can see, as we have done with Ben Stokes as our captain, incredible captaincy on the field and inspiration. I think you had that with Virat Kohli.

“So there are a lot of great cricketers to watch. Some great British-Indian players are coming through. In the next few years, you will see a lot of British-Indian players coming forward and taking on India and hopefully winning.”

Virat Kohli became the fourth Indian batsman in history to complete 9000 runs in Test cricket.
