Veteran players Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah are likely to be rested for India’s upcoming white-ball series in Sri Lanka. India will play three T20Is and three ODIs in Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, India captain Rohit Sharma could return for the ODIs. Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from T20Is after India won the 2024 T20 World Cup in Barbados in June. Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja also announced their retirement from the shorter formats after India’s triumph.
