Virat Kohli’s ‘serious technical problem’ mercilessly exposed by Sanjay Manjrekar

Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has shared his opinion on the dismissal of Virat Kohli in the second innings of the ongoing second Test against the Australian national cricket team. He said that the right-hander has serious technical flaws and cannot find a solution to them.

Virat Kohli, who scored a fantastic century in the first Test in Perth, failed in both innings of the ongoing Adelaide Test match. The first batsman looked clueless in both innings as the Australian pacers were all over him and made life difficult for him. With the way he batted in the second Test, it only seemed a matter of time for him.

Virat Kohli was tested by Scott Boland in the second innings.

While it was Micthell Starc who got him out in the first innings, it was Scott Boland who removed him in the second innings. The right-arm pacer bowled consistently in the outside channel and troubled Kohli during his stay at the crease in the second innings.

Kohli finally edged Scott Boland’s delivery that was caught by wicketkeeper-batsman Alex Carey. The lead batsman was tested by the fast bowler completely in his spell. and finally returned to the hut for 11 runs off 21 balls. He managed only 7 runs in the first innings.

“I don’t have any strong opinions about Virat Kohli. I just, you know, say the truth or the facts that I see in front of me. And it’s something that I have said before too. The technique that is developed to Counter that line off some ball that is balance hasn’t really made his life easier.

“When he got those 100 runs in the last game, you know, I thought, okay, let’s find out if the lack of runs is contributing to the mistakes he is making. Now that the monkey has come off the bat, you expected a Virat Kohli is much more relaxed. and, you know, look in better shape.”

You have a serious technical problem that you just can’t find a solution for – Sanjay Manjrekar on Virat Kohli

Sanjay Manjrekar pointed out that Kohli’s problem with that same line showed that he has a technical problem that he simply cannot find a solution to. He elaborated:

“But clearly, that was a previous problem of not running plus a glitch. But after getting to 100, the fact that he was having trouble with that same line showed that he has a serious glitch that he just can’t find a solution to. “

Virat Kohli would now look for a strong comeback in the next match. In the ongoing match, India are in big trouble as they have lost 5 wickets with 29 runs still in the bank. Rishabh Pant and Nitish Kumar Reddy, who were at the crease of the stumps, would hope to wipe out the deficit and set a fighting target.
