“Was he really that tired?” – Ajay Jadeja criticizes Indian team management for resting Ishan Kishan

Former Indian National Cricket Team Player Ajay Jadeja lashed out at the Indian team management for resting Ishan Kishan in the recently concluded five-match T20I series against the Australian national cricket team.

The wicketkeeper-batsman featured in three matches for India in the T20I series against Australia and recorded scores of 52, 58 and 0. He was left out of the playing XI for the next two matches with Jitesh Sharma as his replacement.

Speaking on Sports Tak, Jadeja stated that Kishan should not rest too often because it will not help him to be prepared for crucial matches. He also criticized the team management for not giving enough opportunities to Ishan Kishan during the World Cup. He stated:

“There was a series right after the World Cup. Ishan Kishan played three matches and went home. Was he really so tired after three games that he needed to rest? He didn’t even play many games in the World Cup. He deserved his place in the starting eleven of the first matches of the World Cup. How many Indian players have scored a double century on a good day?

“Ishan Kishan didn’t even play the entire five-match T20I series against Australia. He was sent home after three games to rest. So if this is going to continue, how are you going to make sure he’s fully prepared?

Ajay Jadeja talks about India’s defeat in the World Cup final

Talking about India’s heartbreaking defeat in the 2023 World Cup final, Ajay Jadeja said that India maintained the same approach throughout the competition, which became the reason for their defeat. He said:

“Australia did not have a defined plan. We’ve seen Glenn Maxwell rise to the #3 spot after a great starting position. They changed their No. 3 hitter based on the opening partnership. India, on the other hand, kept the same approach, which is why Australia was able to come up with a plan.”

Under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, India dominated the ICC World Cup 2023 and won 10 matches in a row heading into the final. However, they did not perform well in the summit clash and faced a heartbreaking defeat.
